You can still achieve a satin or gloss finish for your toughest timber with the Feast Watson Weatherproof Varnish.

With a clear, polyurethane timber finish, the Weatherproof Varnish incorporates maximum UV screening to provide excellent, long-lasting protection against the elements.

This product is perfect for timber that is always exposed to sunlight, salt mist, chemicals, oils, and solvents. Battling the elements deserves a quality finish!

Choose from an elegant satin finish, or a beautiful high sheen glow.

Note:

Weatherproof Varnish can also be applied over Timber & Deck Stain to create a Gloss or Satin Stain & Varnish that is durable and suitable for the outdoors.
Weatherproof Varnish is NOT suitable for heavy wear surfaces (such as decks and walkways). For these areas, use Feast Watson Traditional Timber Oil, Timber & Deck Stain, or Wet Look Decking Oil.

How to prepare the Feast Watson Weatherproof Varnish.

New Timber:

Allow new timber to adapt and adjust to the climate in its final position for 4-6 weeks.
Prepare exterior timber for coating with Feast Watson Woodclean. Sand to a smooth surface. Remember to remove all sanding dust before coating!

Weathered Timber:

Prepare your exterior weathered or grey timber by cleaning thoroughly with Feast Watson Woodclean.
Sand to a smooth surface and remove all sanding dust before coating.

Previously Coated Timber:

Previously coated surfaces need to be taken back to bare timber by sanding timber to a smooth surface.
Remember to remove all sanding dust before coating!

How to apply Feast Watson Weatherproof Varnish:

Feast Watson Weatherproof Varnish should be stirred thoroughly before and during application with a flat blade stirrer. Take care not to introduce bubbles!
Using a brush, roller, or spray, apply Weatherproof Varnish
- Are you using a spray? If so, the Weatherproof Varnish may be thinned by using 10% mineral turpentine.
- Are you using a roller? If so, use a short nap (5mm) mohair roller. Ensure edges and end grain are fully coated.
Make sure to apply a minimum of three coats. Four or more coats may be applied for extra durability, or when the coating has been thinned.
Allow 12 hours drying between coats. Sand lightly between coats.
The final coat should be applied within 30 hours of the previous coat to ensure timber is protected.

How to maintain my timber after using Feast Watson Weatherproof Varnish:

Regularly monitor the surface for signs of colour loss or surface defects.
When required, lightly sand the surface and remove dust. Recoat with additional coats of Feast Watson Weatherproof Varnish as per application instructions.
